Giorgio Armani treats his beauty range with the same precision and attention to detail that he gives his fashion, and that aesthetic is clearly evident with today’s grouping. I’m all about the combination of clean lines of the fragrance bottle coupled with its & organically shaped cap, and these red lipstick cases are a temptation I can’t resist. Obviously, this brand has my number.

Ecstasy Shine Excess Shine & Care Lipcolor (CAN $49.00/each) | Available in 17 shades (although that number is retailer specific) and housed in vibrant red lacquered casings with the GA logo front & centre, the caps are magnetic (as are all the lipstick ranges from this brand), which makes them a cinch to close — and no worries about them popping off in your makeup bag, either. Created as a hybrid lip product, these offer the hydration of a balm, the colour of a lipstick, and the shine of a gloss — all rolled into one. With their slim shape coupled with a super buttery feel upon application, each displays quite a bit of slip due to their emollient nature, meaning reapplication will definitely be needed, although that’s not a deal-breaker for me since I’ll take any opportunity to whip one of these beauties out in public. Staying power will also depend on the shade, and I’m assuming the deeper tones should stay put longer than the lighter hues I received.
- 101 Nuda – nude
- 200 Silenzio – soft brown
- 503 Fatale – pink
Sì fiori eau de parfum (CAN $162.00/100 ml) | Following the success of the original, this version comes in a heavy glass milky pink bottle with a black faux stone cap ringed in gold. Described as a floral-chypre, it bears the same neroli signature as its predecessor but is grounded via an overall earthier tone. Created by Julie Masse, this fragrance is meant to evoke “expressing your true nature in the concrete jungle” — and cheesy concept aside, I actually do get a sense of the softness woven into the composition that seems to be juxtaposed against its more carnal side. Ingredients include:
- Top: black currant, green mandarin
- Heart: neroli, patchouli, oak moss, rose
- Base: vanilla, white musk
Make no mistake about it: this fragrance has major staying power; 12+ hours after spritzing I can still pick it up. Maybe due to an initial sharpness at the opening, it’s also [quite] sweet, powdery, and most definitely not your usual floral … that’s for sure. My personal fragrance preferences run more boozy/smoky/vanilla and while there’s none of that going on in Sì Fiori, the final dry down does have a unique skin softness that bears hints of fruitiness — which does appeal to me, although I can’t put my finger on why — but the image that comes to mind is that of frosted berries in snow. Sounds so pretty, am I right?
It’s no secret that I’m a fan of luxury beauty and the Armani aesthetic is one I’ve long admired — so it’s basically a no-brainer that I’m really liking the Ecstasy Shine Lipstick formula (the price, not so much). Unfortunately, Sì Fiori is not being as cooperative with my body’s chemistry and even though I may not ever wear it, I love the look of the bottle enough to keep & display. That said, I still suggest checking it for yourself and hopefully you’ll be luckier than me!
