I have featured “inside my Mum’s makeup bag” a few times, and while I definitely have to post an updated version, I thought it would be fun to show which products my husband’s Mum uses. To be honest, I almost never read about celebrity’s makeup bags but I am always curious to see what family and friends love.
So here we go:
Just like my Mum, my Mother-in-Law likes a good base, a cheek/face product, a lipstick and a mascara. Just the shades are different, as they have a different colouring.
You can see two primers: No7 Colour Calming Primer (from Boots) and Clinique Superprimer Universal Face Primer (here).
Speaking of Clinique, I was happy to see the Airbrush Concealer (here) which is considered one of the best.
Another cult product is NARS’ Sheer Glow Foundation. There is also a Dolce Vita lipstick both of which my Mum-in-law got from Space NK on a girls’ trip when she and her girlfriends decided to have a makeover. I definitely approve, you just gotta have fun with the girls!
I have to mention that she loves beauty brands which are labeled as “natural” and “organic”, so the mascara of her choice is Eve Perez Natural Almond Mascara in Brown from here. I have never tried this brand, but it sounds promising; apparently the formula is enriched with almond, avocado and sunflower oils. The fact that it’s brown is also awesome. When it comes to natural mascaras, I’ve read raves about Ilia(but have not tried it myself).
Just a note: the beauty industry loves manipulating the term “natural”, so I suggest you do your own research when it comes to this topic.
Overall, my Mum-in-law, just like my very own Mother, does not wear makeup often and when she does, it’s because she wants to “look different to her usual look or she is going somewhere special”.
As little bonus, here are the creams she is currently using: Malin + Goetz Vitamin E Cream (here)and REN Clean Screen Mineral SPF 30 (here). I am a big fan of both brands, and have used the face cream myself some time ago.
I hope you liked reading it as much as I loved writing it, and chatting to my fabulous Mother-in-Law. I am also grateful for all the pics she sent over, as I forgot to take them myself.
