From the brand that made “beauty nudity” part of our mainstream vocabulary, the latest to join the family is Urban Decay’s Naked Honey Palette — 12 lush amber-inspired hues that come in a mix of finishes and guaranteed to hit your sweet spot (see what I did there? lol)

Naked Honey Palette (CAN $68.00) | Housed in a bronze metallic compact case with an undulating raised pattern on the lid, it also includes a full sized mirror on the inside as well as a synthetic fibre dual-ended brush. The 12 shades come in a mix of matte, satin, shimmer, and brilliant metallic finishes, with all displaying high colour saturation along with an excellent blendability. The hues are decidedly warm leaning for the most part, but I feel that those with fairer complexions can still make them work, provided a touch of something cooler is added for balance. Their staying power when applied over primer, is bang-on for the lot, staying true without creasing or fading until removed.
Personally, I feel that this palette is one of the better releases from Urban Decay, providing options that can help you create either a subtle look, or one that amps things up by using the metallic hues for more drama (that said, I’ve been known to go bold for daytime too; I usually stick to one shade for that and throw on some mascara). But the biggest selling feature here, is the superb quality of all the shades — something you don’t often find in a palette this size, but it’s definitely oh-so very welcome.

When Urban Decay first hinted at this palette, I got excited because I’m always on the hunt for warm shades that can still be considered “neutrals”, but with a bit of a kick. Naked Honey certainly delivers where that is concerned and what’s more, it’s surprisingly wearable too — despite what you may have heard along the interweb. So how do you improve on a cult-fave?
