With 2019 being almost gone, it’s interesting to look back and analyse the biggest beauty and fashion trends, so I present you a collaboration on 2019’s Best Beauty and Fashion Trends. Feel free to share your thoughts on the trends mentioned, and tell us your favourites.
2019 has been an interesting year for the worlds of beauty and fashion, as we have never seen so many trends come and go in one year, kicking up storms of debates as to whether they are fashion forward or fashion flops. However, whilst some of these trends have indeed been questionable, there are others that we think are stunning and hope that they don’t go anywhere soon. Check out some of 2019’s best trends in the worlds of beauty and fashion and see which you want to try!
Matte Red Lips
Possibly one of the most dramatic looks that has been making an appearance on runways, TV shows and movies all around the world is the matte red lip. Whilst it never really went completely out of fashion, this fall the red lip is back in full force and can be matched perfectly with neutral fall colors to really create a dramatic stand out look that will turn heads no matter where you go. With the rise of the Anastasia Beverly Hills and other large brands using matte lipstick as a staple in their products, it’s no wonder this trend isn’t going anywhere soon.
Chunky Sneakers
This is a trend that began back in 2018 but has proved time and time again that it isn’t going anywhere – and for good reason. The chunky sneaker trend is going so strong because it’s not only fashion forward, but it also promotes a strong sense of individuality in anyone who chooses to wear them. With the rise of social media, and the incredible influence that celebrities seem to have recently, everyone is doing whatever is possible to stand out and create their own identity, and these sneakers do just that. Whilst this trend is increasingly popular with the younger generation, it hasn’t gone unnoticed by big designers and fashion houses such as Gucci, Givenchy and Balenciaga. However, due to the popularity of these sneakers they are in high demand, so make sure that you head over to SSENSE to get a great deal on the trendiest Balenciaga sneakers that the company has to offer.
Bold Eyebrows
Gone are the 2000s where every girl used to pluck her eyebrows until they were thin little lines and then draw over to really make them stand out. Big, bold and bushy is the new trend in brows for a few years running now, but like the chunky sneaker trend, it’s not going anywhere. Possibly one of the largest advocates for the bushy brow look is the gorgeous Cara Delevingne who has been rocking this trend for as long as she can remember, and she’s most likely the reason this trend took off in the first place. Big, bold eyebrows frame the face and create a wonderfully fierce and dramatic look, so if you’re used to plucking, try giving your face a break and rock the bushy brows.
80s Revival
The 80s fashion revival comes in so many forms that it’s hard to name them all, but some of the most notable have to be the return of crushed velvet and double denim. Whilst both are these are a trend that people seem to either hate with a passion or be madly in love with, there’s no denying that it’s stirred up the fashion pot this year. Double denim is presumed to be a fashion curse but was loved at Bobby Abley’s 2019 London runway, making this look a staple of the 80s revival. Crushed velvet, on the other hand, was seen everywhere from department stores to catwalks and has been making an appearance in various forms, such as headbands, purses, skirts, dresses and even shoes. Whilst both these trends were once considered to be devils of the fashion industry, we can’t wait to see how long they can stick around.
Neon Eyes
A huge trend in fashion this year has been the neon trend, especially neon yellow. From catwalks to department stores it seems that the impending threat of neon is inescapable, so much so that it has infiltrated the world of cosmetics – and we love it! Neon eyes is a trend in 2019 that has taken the world by storm, as it allows you to inject a flash of color and individuality into a time where the plain and barefaced illusion makeup is taking favor. Due to the bright colors, neon eye makeup has took off with people of all skin colors and ethnicities and everyone and anyone has been joining in on the trend – even Fenty Beauty is jumping on the neon train!
With all of the interesting yet fleeting fashion and beauty trends of 2019, it can be difficult to keep up with them all, but there are some definite favorites that don’t seem to be going anywhere any time soon! Check out these trends and see if you think they’re fashion forward or fashion flops.
